Round 7 – U17/18 Match Report

May 29, 2013 | Matches, News

Round 7 match report was against Sans Souci and with again another week of injuries the team only had one reserve to draw on. It was a slow start to the game but there was evidence of some great positional plays and ball touches impressing the coach. Chris Brosnan and Max controlled the back line really tightly and allowed the midfielders to create chances out wide with Nunzio breaking away on the right and David in hot pursuit across the other side yelling for a far post ball which he got and nailed with a perfect header to the back of the net to open his scoring account for the year and what was to be the best orchestrated goal we have seen so far. Nunzio was at his bedazzling best in the midfield and managed a hat trick of goals throughout the game.

At half time the score was 3-0 in our favour. The boys came out intent on increasing the score line threatening the Sans Souci goal at every opportunity. No one was safe especially the cars parked behind the Sans Souci goal which prompted the owners to move the cars in fear of damage the pressure applied was so much that the back line was now pushing forward which allowed Max to score his first goal for the season and the sixth for the game. Roko worked hard in the midfield and out front with John and was constantly reminding the coach of all the assists he created that led to goals. With Jordan harassing the opposition with some strong challenges found himself with an opportunity and scored the 7th goal of the match. The Sans Souci morale was now down and salt was rubbed into the wounds when in the last minute of play a free kick was awarded outside the box. Michael bent it like Beckham around the wall and into the back of the net ending a hard day at the office for Sans Souci finishing up with 8-0 win for the boys……..

Well done boys
