Finals Report

Aug 28, 2013 | Matches, News

Dear Raiders Family this is the Grand finals report for the 2013 season.

Under 14s

We can all be very proud of our under 14s who lost their grand final 1-0 against Hurstville Minators. Coach Michael says the boys dominated the game but had some difficult calls to deal with on a pretty rough pitch. He was very proud of the boys. They did all they could after a sensational year. Well done boys, we look forward to seeing you at the presentations. According to my calculations the team had 13 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses. Thank you Michael and all of the coaches, all of the parents and most importantly, all of the boys who played like champions all season with no drama and in the spirit of real sportsmanship. You are not boys, you are men, and men of courage and commitment.

 All Age Gs

Our All Age Gs have won their grand final 2-1, and are both premiers and grand champions. They have carried the club banner proudly all season. Thanks to Milton and all of the staff. According to my calculations the team had 11 wins, 4 draws, and 2 losses. A great season in a very well managed and coached team. Thanks to all the players for acting responsibly and giving our club a great team role model. If any of you want to get more involved in sports administration, please put your hand up. A great career starts here.

Apologies that I had to work on Saturday and was not there to see the teams play. I couldn’t get out of my commitments.

Thanks to the committee and particularly to Yvonne for all the hard work, and our President Ron, who had open heart surgery in the middle of the season and Nancy who pays the bills. Thanks to Gerald and Antonietta for running a great canteen and generally caring for the field, and Michael for all the line marking and coaching with Roy, Geoff and Claudio the U14s. Thanks to Roberto and Mark (U6s), Daniel and Gordon (U7/8), Con and John (U8/9), Faisal and Shehriaz (AAF), Milton and Gregory (AAG), Steve, Geoff and Sean (O45), Dennis (U18). I hope I haven’t left anyone out. If I have, please let me know and I will send a separate email.

We welcome any interest from parents who would like to be on our executive committee. We would particularly like to train up a registrar in the off season and anyone who some basic computer skills, we can train in the program. The more people we have with registrar skill, the better.

Regardless of where our players finished this year, I have had one of the best seasons this year I have ever experienced. It was a pleasure to be involved.

See you at the presentation day on the 21st September – please lock that in your dairies.
