Message from the Secretary – Round 2

Apr 13, 2013 | News

As we are about to start our season with round 2 we have a special message from the secretary to all our players and supporters and it follows:

Dear Raiders family

  1. Because of the great work of our Committee, Coaches & managers and the support of everyone, we are in great shape to start the season.
  2. The home field premises have been cleaned to hospital standards. The field has been marked, and the goalposts set up. Thanks to everyone who helped.
  3. Here are some guidelines for new chums in our soccer family that will help make your season a happy one.
  • Commitment is everything. Playing football is not an option when you are in a team because if you’re away it hurts the team and the club. It is therefore important to make sure your manager is fully informed on the rare occasions when you or your child will be unavailable. Make friends with other parents to help you when necessary and be generous with your own arrangements. THE PURPOSE OF OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM IS TO BUILD COMMITMENT INTO CHILDREN TO MAKE THEM WINNERS IN THE GAME OF LIFE. WE RECOGNISE ACHIEVEMENT AND WE REWARD COMMITMENT. This means that we as parents, must be fully committed to training and turning up to matches 30 minutes before kick-off.
  • The game is always on regardless of the weather unless you are informed by your manager that it’s off. It’s the state of the field, not the weather that determines whether the game is cancelled.
  • Our club is subject to fines from the Association for any infringement of the rules including administrative problems.
  • At the end of the game, the manager will take the team sheets to association headquarters and place them in the brown box. Everything on the team sheet must accurate, otherwise we will be fined.
  • Your manager will have player cards for every player and check the other team’s cards. This is how the game is run via player cards.
  • You will not always have an official referee. The home team must supply the referee if there is none supplied. Referees are in short supply.
  • All electrical tape used on socks must be white, underwear to be red, and undershirts and headscarves to be white.
  • Competition teams send their results to 0425 283 411 by sms clearly identified by 5.00pm match day. Failure to do this causes the club to be fined.
  • Our website needs content, photos, reports, advertising. Can each team please give some content to Gerald. If you have a small business, you should be advertising on our website and become a preferred provider for the Club. We are happy to work with you to help you build your business profile if your product is ethical and acceptable
  • No player is to wear any jewellery while playing. Shirts must be tucked in, long socks and shin pads on the inside must be worn.
  • All players will shake hands with their opponents at the end of the game (and at the start) and give 3 cheers to the opposition, referee prior to leaving the field. Good sportsmanship is a life skill. We play to win, but at the end of the day, regardless of the result, we move on.
  • We are organising a club BBQ soon for Thursday night. We want to be a happy and friendly club for all ages.
  • Our next committee meeting is Monday 13/5/13, 7.00pm @ Rockdale RSL. All players or parents that care about our club are always welcome to attend the committee meeting for interest or with any matters they want discussed. We are an open club and our minutes and financial records are available to all registered players who are in fact are members of our incorporated association.

Have a great first round
