Here is an update on what is happening:
Covid & football Season Update
Attached are updates from FSG confirming all Football Activities including training and games remain suspended until at least Friday 30th July . What might happen after that – no-one really knows but the aim is to keep playing if possible.

History for Gala evening( final version)
Circular – Suspension of Football 14072021
Football St George ( FSG) have reformed their Presidents Covid Committee (as attached I have been invited to again be a member). That committee will meet with the FSG Board next Monday night to discuss . We will look at what options exist to complete as much of the playing season as possible.
Approaches have been made to councils trying to get access to grounds for a bit longer to help.
Competitions ? A key decision will be :
- Do we play as many “normal rounds” as possible & probably have no finals
OR
- Cut some rounds BUT play FINALS (Maybe even have Pennant finals for teams placed 5th – 8/10 )
WHAT DO YOU THINK ?
Mini Roos – will try to play games BUT probably not into September like last year. I’m thinking about an inter club GALA Day – where teams play say 3 games on the same day & still finish by say 1 pm.
That way all kids get a few extra games but the season doesn’t “Drag On “

Jim Graham Reserve
Almost there – the Amenities block. Lighting , Fencing, Bridge & most Landscaping is completed. The “playing surface“ is almost laid. There is still a bit to do on securing and finalising this area.
START DATE ? They won’t commit But I’m thinking mid – late Sept ( Covid & Weather have caused some delays )
NB The amazing Adventure Park, Skate Park and Raiders Junior Field over the canal won’t be ready until early 2022.
Don Marshall Memorial Amenities Building
Bayside Council are approving our request to have the new Amenities building named to honour one of our founding fathers Don Marshall. As you can read in the attached Raider history Don, along with Jim Graham, helped build the original field and Amenities. Don continued to be active in the club till his passing. He never wished to leave and so his ashes were spread on the field !
Today Don’s son Phil coaches the 7’s which includes Don’s Great Grand Daughter “Tats” i.e. 4th generation of the Marshall family still wearing the famous Red & White !!
Raiders Committee Meet on Monday – NEEDS SOME HELP
We meet and kept planning for the remainder of 2021 , the new field and into 2022 But we need some help – specially
Social Secretary – Let’s get the Raider family together more often
Publicity / Communications – Let keep everyone better informed more often and more efficiently
Gear – Playing and Promotional – Jo needs some help in this fun area !
